  • A Trick to Safely Uninstall Any Program

Uninstalling programs is *meant* to be a very easy task... but unfortunately for some people, it can also be incredibly difficult if the uninstall feature of a program doesn't work. This can be a big problem, but one which you can easily get round with one simple trick.

The problem with programs that won't uninstall is quite simple. Basically, the uninstall feature of software is just an automated tool which does a two-step method to remove a program from your PC. All an uninstallation feature of a program does is to first delete the program from your PC and then "cut" it out of Windows, by removing all its links it has with registry keys. It's surprising how many people don't know this, because if an uninstalltion fails, you can easily do it yourself by following this same 2-step technique.

To uninstall any program, you first need to remove its program files. These are files which make the program work, and are extremely important in the uninstallation process. By deleting these files, you can quickly remove the program from your PC for good, and it's actually a pretty simple thing to do. You just need to be able to open My Computer, and then browse to C:/Program Files/.

This will be where the program files are kept for the program in question, allowing you to select the folder and press SHIFT+DELETE to remove it from your computer. Pressing shift + delete will permanently delete it from your PC, preventing it from loading ever again.

The next thing you need to do is to "cut" the software out of Windows. When you install software, it has its program (core) files placed in the program files folder and is then embedded in Windows with a series of registry keys. These keys tell Windows everything from when to load the program to how to make it run, embedding the program deeply into Windows. This means that to completely uninstall the program from your PC, you just need to remove its registry keys, and to do that, you first need to search for a program called "RegEdit.Exe". This will load up the registry editor, which you then need to search through by clicking CTRL+F. Search for the program you want to uninstall in this box and then delete all the files you want.
Although this is an effective way to uninstall programs, it's very risky, especially for someone who hasn't done it before. Messing with the registry can severely damage your computer, which is why you might want to consider using an uninstaller program to get rid of it. These programs work very well to remove all the files and registry entries for a program, allowing you to get rid of them once and for all. We've found the best uninstaller tool for this job, is an application called Wizard Uninstaller
